The Inside Story
Something Special Something Different
The Mobile Dialysis Unit will have more in common with with the first class cabin of an aeroplane than a clinic. During the four hour treatment, each patient will be sitting in a comfortable electrically adjustable seat, which has been designed to minimumise preasure on soft tissue. Each patient will have their own reading lamp and their own individual plasma screen. From their screen they will be able to enjoy watching a film of their choice or can sellect from the on board library. They will be able to watch the news and with their keyboard will be able to read and write E-mails and access the internet. They will also be able to connect with local radio stations in their area.
We are pleased to offer Learn Direct Courses so that patients can make the most of their time on dialysis. This means they will be able to use their time effectively to improve their job prospects. It is the desire of many receiving dialysis treatment to receive a kindney transplant and after a period of recovery may then be looking for employment. It may not be possible to return to their previous occupation and therefore a Learn Direct Course will be able to increase their job prospects in a completely new direction.
They may only need to drive to their local town in order to receive dialysis treatment and the nurses on duty will also be from the locallity, as will the other patients. We aim to provide a warm friendly environment for all patients.
